Cio Bulletin - ElevenLabs Sets Sights on IPO with Global AI Voice Expansion

London-based startup ElevenLabs plans new hubs and market dominance by 2030

ElevenLabs, a London-based AI voice generation startup, is gearing up for a potential initial public offering (IPO) within five years, as announced on July 3, 2025. Founded in 2022 by Mati Staniszewski and Piotr Dąbkowski, the company aims to transform how we interact with technology through synthetic voices, competing with firms like Speechmatics and Hume AI. With a recent $180 million funding round valuing it at $3.3 billion, ElevenLabs boasts backing from heavyweights like Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, ICONIQ Growth, Salesforce, and Deutsche Telekom.

The company is eyeing major global growth, planning new hubs in Paris, Singapore, Brazil, and Mexico to complement its existing offices in London, New York, Warsaw, San Francisco, Japan, India, and Bangalore. “We expect to keep scaling,” Staniszewski told CNBC, emphasizing a vision to make ElevenLabs a lasting public company. The startup serves three key areas: consumer voice assistants, corporate integrations with firms like Cisco, and tailored solutions for industries like healthcare.

While the IPO listing location—potentially the U.K. or U.S.—remains undecided, it will hinge on where most users are based. Open to further venture capital, ElevenLabs will raise funds strategically to fuel expansion. This bold move positions the startup to lead the AI audio revolution, making voice a cornerstone of digital interaction.
