Can you tell us a bit about your “backstory”? What led you to this particular career path?

My journey into this career path began with a passion for leveraging technology to drive positive change. With over four decades of experience in banking and computer economics, I recognized the need for innovative solutions to address the evolving challenges faced by businesses. This recognition led me to found WebAccountPlus, driven by the vision of revolutionizing digital business advisory services and empowering organizations to thrive in the digital age.

We all need a little help along the way. Who were some of your mentors? Can you tell a story about how they have influenced you?

It might sound a little atypical now, but I've never had a mentor throughout my career who has given me valuable advice and support, apart from my father — but he came from a completely different industry. What I do have is great professional camaraderie, and we constantly share our expertise, spurring each other on to do our best. Having worked abroad for over 12 years, including 5 years in Africa and over 1 year traveling in Asia, I have been lucky enough to get to know many different cultures, views, and personalities. Their diverse expertise and insights, and above all, their diverse problems, have helped me to master complex challenges and make informed decisions. Experiences like these spur you on. They have left their mark on me and emphasize the importance of perseverance, innovation, and continuous learning — keys to my success. You don't learn that from textbooks.

Our platform enables seamless collaboration, data integration, and real-time analytics, empowering organizations to optimize performance and mitigate risks. By providing actionable insights and strategic guidance, WebAccountPlus helps businesses make informed decisions and achieve their financial objectives more efficiently than ever before.

Can you tell us about a particular challenge you faced as CEO of WebAccountPlus and how you overcame it?

One particular challenge I faced as CEO of WebAccountPlus was undoubtedly that the vision I had in mind kept expanding (not in the sense of changing - but in the sense of growing) over time. This required even more commitment and capital. Through effective communication, collaboration, and strategic planning, we were able to overcome this challenge and emerge stronger as a company. Nevertheless, a few of our companions became overwhelmed or could no longer keep up with our pace. The increased financial burden was, of course, significant for all remaining team members. However, it was always important to us to develop the platform to market maturity before raising capital from a venture capital fund, which could possibly jeopardize the complete implementation due to profitability considerations. I have learned how important my resilience, adaptability, and teamwork are in overcoming adversity and achieving our strategic goals. And, of course, the importance of having an understanding and supportive wife.

Do you have a book, podcast or lecture that has had a lasting impact on your thinking? Can you explain why it resonated so much with you?

Basically, I can name two books that have profoundly impacted my thinking. One is the Bible, which is becoming increasingly relevant today, and the other is Klaus Schwab's 2016 book, The Fourth Industrial Revolution. The Bible provides important values and an understanding of what is happening in the world and why. It serves as a significant guide, teaching humility, respect, and love for fellow human beings. On the other hand, Klaus Schwab's book is extremely worldly and visionary. It offers in-depth insights into the mindsets and progress of power elites. You don't have to agree with its content, but everyone should read what he has written about medical advances and possibilities — particularly the concept of "biological megatrends" — and then contextualize those statements within the period between 2019 and 2021. The insights and perspectives provided in these two books have certainly inspired me to think differently, question conventional wisdom, and innovate my approach as a leader.

What would be your message or words of motivation to budding entrepreneurs who are just starting their journey into the business world?

My message to budding entrepreneurs is to embrace the journey with passion, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. The road to success may be challenging, but with dedication, resilience, and a willingness to learn from failures, anything is possible.
