Susan, the owner of the Fort Worth, Texas-based interior design company, Susan Semmelmann Interiors, says that her drive and passion revolves around a solid foundation of faith, family, community, and good old-fashioned “fingers in the dirt.” Despite being the owner of her design firm, one can find Susan always working alongside her clients and her team. She says that when people often ask her why she does not have an office or a desk, her short answer is that her work is in the homes she designs, so that’s where you’ll always find her. According to Susan, “The Spirit of Living is in the Giving” is the motto that summarizes her purpose in life for doing what she does. It is profoundly beautiful and introspective when she says that she lives to share her heart and talents with the world around her.

Her design firm, Susan Semmelmann Interiors, has grown by leaps and bounds in three short years. With  70 projects currently in the works, Susan is beyond humbled by the success of her design firm. Far from being an overnight success, when her brand was launched in March of 2019, Susan brought 23 years of experience in design and construction to the table. Armed with her vast experience and a crystal-clear vision, she stepped out in faith to begin a new adventure with zero clients and a handful of employees willing to join the journey. Susan was initially nervous about taking on 2,300 square feet of office space when starting Susan Semmelmann Interiors. Today, Susan Semmelmann Interiors has a 10,000-square-foot building on Vickery Boulevard in Fort Worth, Texas, and is acquiring another facility to hold all the orders!

The Vickery location will house the firm’s offices and Fort Worth Drapery and Fort Worth Design Studio. Susan wants to open these resources to the public, in addition to online availability through her manufacturer, and give other designers more options to offer their clients.

In March 2019, Susan took a leap of faith and followed her opening her own deisgn firm and launching her brand.
