As more corporate clients look for a competitive edge in retaining exceptional employees, Microsoft has invested in Darwinbox, a human resources software business based in Hyderabad, according to a Bloomberg article.
The US-based IT titan extended Darwinbox's Series D round, which valued the startup at over $1 billion in early 2022, by making an equity investment of undisclosed size, the startup said in a statement on January 17.
According to another report by VCCircle, as part of the agreement, Darwinbox would use Microsoft Azure as the foundation for its human resource management SaaS (software-as-a-service) platform.
Its SaaS platform uses technology powered by artificial intelligence and employee experiences to meet HR needs throughout the whole employee lifecycle.
Darwinbox, which has its international headquarters in Singapore, was established in Hyderabad, India, in 2015.
