IFRS Foundation Launches Free E-Learning on Sustainability

The IFRS Foundation unveils free e-learning modules designed to help society adopt ISSB sustainability standards globally and promote positive sustainability reporting.

The IFRS Foundation has presented a set of open-access e-learning modules that will help businesses and stakeholders implement the ISSB IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 disclosure standards. These modules, hosted on the IFRS Sustainability Knowledge Hub, facilitate sustainability-related reporting practices around the world.

The four e-learning courses address the most crucial aspects of e-learning: general disclosure requirements, climate-specific topic disclosures, and integrated sustainability strategies. The visual, written and interaction materials are all incorporated into every self-paced module, which ends with an assessment in the form of a multiple-choice test.

"This e-learning will assist in providing people with the knowledge they should have to familiarize themselves with our standards," said ISSB vice-chair Sue Lloyd. She also highlighted the hands-on and approachable resources of the ISSB that can help in the implementation.

The initiative is available at no cost to IFRS.org members and also provides accounting professionals with the ability to receive CPD/CPE credits. To certify professionals who connect sustainability with financial performance, the IFRS Foundation suggests the development of qualifications such as the FSA Credential that signify deeper qualifications.

The launch of global e-learning by the foundation ascertains its need to have standardized and investor-ally aligned sustainability reporting to the global capital market.
