Opera One now available on iPhones

Opera has introduced Opera One for iPhones, an AI-powered web browser, in response to Apple's decision to allow third-party app stores to be selected as default web browsers.

Opera unveiled their AI-powered web browser, Opera One for iPhones, in response to Apple's recent revelation that iPhone users can select third-party app stores and set their preferred default web browser in accordance with the European Union's Digital Markets Act.

The browser makes use of the flexibility provided to users to move from Safari to another browser, as it was created to conform to Apple's new rules. Opera One is already available for Windows, but it is soon to be available for iPhones as well, which will cause a big change in the EU's Apple ecosystem.

According to Opera, Opera One is an AI-focused web browser designed to take advantage of Apple's most recent rules. Opera is the default web browser that users are free to select. This invention is noteworthy because it addresses Apple's compliance with the Digital Markets Act. It gives developers more flexibility by enabling them to create web browsers without WebKit and include their own bespoke technology.

Complying with legal mandates, the AI-driven Opera One browser will only be available within the European Union. EU iPhone users will be able to download Opera One on their smartphones running iOS 17.4 or later starting in March 2024.

Developers must first obtain Apple's approval for their apps/services, especially if using non-WebKit engines like Opera One, to balance platform security and user choice.
