Google Invests $10 Billion in Andhra Pradesh AI Hub

Google is investing in a $10 billion Andhra Pradesh center of AI and data center, spurring local technology and innovations.

Alphabet Inc. Google has declared its largest investment in India by investing $10 billion in constructing a massive data center and AI center in Andhra Pradesh. The new 1-gigawatt Google data center campus will be situated in Visakhapatnam and will integrate AI infrastructure, large-scale energy sources, and an expanded fiber-optic network to facilitate the work of high-performance computers and AI.

The plan highlights the attempt of Google to develop its international presence and respond to the massive AI services demand. With the increased rivalry between technology giants, the investment makes Google a leader in the digital and AI revolution of India. There will be a formal agreement to be signed on Tuesday, the officials said, and the project will be closed.

Nara Lokesh, the State IT Minister, opined on the strategic importance of the project and saw it as, in a world where data is the new oil, such projects will be a strategic asset. The Google campus will help to generate a lot of employment opportunities, aid in the innovation of tech in the area and make India embrace AI and cloud services faster.

The investment underscores a larger vision of Google to better the capabilities of AI and sustainable infrastructure by integrating energy on a large scale.
