Once Upon a Farm is an organic food company based in Berkeley, California. It makes cold, fresh-pressed, and refrigerated snacks and meals for babies, toddlers, and growing children. Promising goodness you can taste and ingredients you can trust, the firm makes organic goods that are clean-label certified and do not contain added sugar, artificial ingredients, preservatives, or GMOs. Their products are also dairy-free and nutrient-rich. Since its inception in 2015, the company has rapidly grown to more than 22,000 stores in the US. Once Upon a Farm strives to live up to both the promises that it makes about its recipes’ ingredients and its unwavering commitment to quality control. Even as it achieves success in the marketplace, the company continues to draw inspiration for some of its favorite recipes from its co-founder Jennifer Garner’s century-old family farm in Locust Grove, Oklahoma.

The company grows pumpkins, blueberries, field peas and rye, wildflowers, honeybees, and six cattle. Its authentic farm-to-fridge recipes are loved by kids and parents alike. Once Upon a Farm’s operations commence on organic farms where fresh fruits and veggies are selected. From there, ingredients are quickly frozen to ensure nutrients are retained. These are then packaged for customers to cook at home or blended, pouched, and protected through cold-pressure. As a result, all of Once Upon a Farm’s products taste homemade, including meals that can be cooked in minutes and pouches that can be served on the go.

Moreover, the company ensures that only the best of the best ingredients are provided to kids. Some of the ingredients used are avocado, coconut milk, flaxseed, ginger, kale, mango, pumpkin seed, spinach, sweet potato, strawberry, and turmeric. Furthermore, the company recognizes that giving back to the community is an essential obligation of a people-centric business. To this effect, it partners with Save the Children to ensure that all children have access to the best nutrition available. This supports the organization’s early education and nutrition programs that help kids realize their full potential for a happier, healthier tomorrow. Significantly, Jennifer Green’s 15-year association with Save the Children is what led her to co-found Once Upon a Farm.

Clean Label Purity Standards for Progressive Childhood Feeding Stages

Once Upon a Farm is proud to be the first baby and kids food brand to receive the Clean Label Project Purity award. It has also been certified as pesticide-free and has bagged the 1,000 Day Promise recognition by the same certifying body.  As a nonprofit third-party expert, Clean Label Project tests for over 400 environmental and industrial toxins, including heavy metals.

Tailoring its products to meet the baby feeding stages, its pouches and meals are organized by eating style and not just age or stage, ensuring that parents can expand their little one’s palate at their perfect pace. The company’s farm-fresh organic ingredients are all it takes to evoke the interest of curious eaters. The range of pure and simple purees eases the transition to solid foods. Also, the company’s next-level blends are textured and varied, providing a catalogue of unique ingredients and creative combinations to explore. For the adventurous, Once Upon a Farm’s nutritious finger meals and snacks offer a recipe for confident eating.

The company provides in-store-only baby food bowls that serve up farm-fresh flavors, nutrition, and textures. Its Organic Fruit and Veggie Baby Food Bowls meet the federal requirements for the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC™ eligibility).

By virtue of providing a comprehensive range of innovative and thoughtful products, Once Upon a Farm ranks among the Most Innovative Food & Beverage Companies 2026."

Regenerative Agriculture Practices and Equitable Farm Worker Support

Once Upon a Farm recognizes that significant ecological impacts such as biodiversity loss and greenhouse gas emissions result from food production. This is also an industry with widespread systemic social injustices in labor practices and land access. However, the company believes that by producing food in the right manner, it can regenerate ecosystems, create equitable jobs, and foster resilient rural communities, thereby being a part of the solutions to the aforementioned challenges. To create a steady supply of nutritious ingredients, soil, ecosystems, and workers must be well cared for.

With over 50% of the company’s farmworkers being parents, it ensures that its products are good not only for the kids who eat them, but also for the people who grow them. Despite its complex supply chain and work-in-progress methodology, Once Upon a Farm is proud to be the first consumer goods brand to source and pay premiums on produce from suppliers certified by the Equitable Food Initiative. Complementing this initiative is the company’s commitment to reversing the trend of only 2% of global agricultural lands being under certified organic management by actively leading the way.

Furthermore, Once Upon a Farm prioritizes renewable energy in its production of delicious farm-fresh snacks by purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) for its manufacturing needs, thereby supporting wind and solar energy sources. Some of the company’s RECs also support a Tribal Renewable Energy Fund to empower indigenous communities. Emphasizing quality, safety, nutrition, and convenience, the company is constantly improving the sustainability of its product packaging by using fewer materials and increasing the circularity of materials. Additionally, its industry collaborations, such as the Entrepreneur Ally Program and a multi-year sponsorship of the non-profit, Project Poltluck, support Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) entrepreneurs and colleagues in the industry.

Rooted in Regenerative Values and Pure Organic Nutrition

As an equitable and regenerative culture-driven organization, Once Upon a Farm embodies social justice and promotes community upliftment. With its co-founders being parents themselves; it aims to deliver nutrition that is clean-label, organic, and nutrient-rich to children devoid of artificial additives or added sugars. The company envisions revitalizing ecosystems and supporting resilient rural communities by placing sustainable farming and the use of renewable energy at the forefront of its operations. Through community partnerships like Save the Children, it ensures accessible, high-quality nourishment for a healthier, happier tomorrow.

Nourishing Growing Families While Supporting Agricultural Workers

Once Upon a Farm is a pioneering organic food company that brings farm-fresh, clean-label nourishment to babies and children across the US. It empowers parents with convenient, palate-expanding nutrition for their growing kids by offering products such as cold-press pouches, textured blends, and WIC™ eligible meals. At the same time, the company looks after its workforce – over 50% of whom are parents – by sourcing through the Equitable Food Initiative. This ensures fair premiums, safe labor practices, and an inclusive environment.
