The Advertising Standards Council of India becomes a founding member of a global initiative to elevate advertising standards.
The Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) has announced its role as a founding member of the International Council for Advertising Self-Regulation (ICAS) Global Think Tank. Launched on September 18th in New York, this new platform aims to advance responsible advertising practices globally by fostering collaboration among key industry players.
The Think Tank is designed to bring together self-regulatory organizations, industry leaders, academic institutions, and other stakeholders to address critical issues in advertising. Initial discussions will focus on topics such as sustainability and the responsible use of AI, with the scope expected to expand as the Think Tank evolves.
Guy Parker, president of ICAS, expressed excitement about the initiative’s potential to shape evidence-based policymaking and elevate advertising standards, ultimately benefiting both businesses and consumers.
Manisha Kapoor, CEO and Secretary General of ASCI, highlighted ASCI’s commitment to supporting this global effort through the ASCI Academy. Kapoor emphasized the importance of collective action in tackling the increasingly complex challenges surrounding advertising regulation, aiming to foster consumer trust and confidence in the industry.
This collaborative Think Tank is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of responsible advertising practices worldwide.
