An important step in Trent's efforts to improve its omni-channel skills has been taken with the appointment of Maya Tata to lead Westside e-commerce marketing department. After leaving Tata Digital, she will lead Westside's online marketing campaigns in her new position, assisting the company's ongoing digital and global growth.

Before joining Tata Capital's Tata Opportunities Fund, the 37-year-old started her career in the Tata Group under Ratan Tata's guidance. Later on, she joined Tata Digital, where she learned about the company's ecosystem for digital commerce. In keeping with Trent's goal of providing a smooth transition between online and physical shopping experiences, Maya Tata is anticipated to spearhead Westside's digital retail strategy and increase consumer interaction.

According to the reports tracked by CIO Bulletin, with almost 40% of Trent's total revenue, Westside continues to be the company's biggest source of income. It is supporting the company’s strategy by fusing online and physical retail.

The brand's debut in the UAE marks the start of its global expansion. With brands including Westside, Zudio, and Star Bazaar, the business presently runs 1,286 stores in 321 cities and recorded approximately Rs 19,700 crore in revenue in FY2026.

Speaking about the company's long-term plan, Noel N. Tata, Chairman of Trent, stated that the retailer wants to develop Indian brands that can thrive in worldwide marketplaces while building a significant international business that supports India's expanding export goals.
