ITV Cuts Reshape Daytime Presenter Line-up

Christine Lampard quits ITV daytime as schedules tighten and there is a huge restructuring of major media and entertainment.

Christine Lampard has confirmed she has resigned as a stand-in on Lorraine Kelly after major daytime cutbacks were announced by ITV. The choice is part of broader media and entertainment cost-cutting steps that will be implemented at the beginning of 2026.

This shift was announced earlier this year when ITV announced that Lorraine would become a 30-minute daily program, which only seasonally covers 30 weeks of a year. Because of the shortened schedule, the long-running morning show will no longer require regular presenters. Lampard, who has been replacing Lorraine for eight years, will now host less but still under the ITV Daytime portfolio.

Lampard also announced her departure on Instagram and thanked those she worked with and called the experience a landmark in her media and entertainment journey. She will still feature on Loose Women, and Ranvir Singh is one of the faces behind Good Morning Britain.

The reforms are in line with a wider upheaval in the ITV media and entertainment policy. ITV has revealed that as early as January, ITN will replace the production of the Good Morning Britain program, by which the program will go off-air on several occasions annually as part of changed schedules.

According to industry insiders, the internal issues that the cuts have brought on board include the speculation regarding the long-term future of Lorraine Kelly. The merging of ITV's activities highlights the ongoing stress that exists in the UK media entertainment industry.
