Influencer-driven storytelling shines spotlight on regional experiences, winning Renaissance Award in Pittsburgh
In a strong win for strategic storytelling and regional promotion, GO Laurel Highlands has received a prestigious Renaissance Award from the Public Relations Society of America – Pittsburgh Chapter. The recognition highlights the organization’s impactful winter influencer campaign designed to showcase the charm and diversity of Pennsylvania’s Laurel Highlands.
As the official destination marketing organization for Somerset, Fayette, and Westmoreland counties, GO Laurel Highlands brought nine content creators from across the country for a carefully curated three-day winter experience. The itinerary featured more than two dozen stops, from outdoor adventures at Laurel Hill State Park and Ohiopyle State Park, to local dining, craft beverages, and family attractions.
The result was powerful digital engagement. The influencers produced over 300 pieces of content, generating 1.5 million video views, 1.1 million impressions, and 73,000 engagements, reaching nearly 850,000 followers nationwide.
“This content creator initiative hit the mark in many ways,” said Laura Argenbright, Senior Director of Creative Strategy at GO Laurel Highlands, who accepted the award alongside Eric Knopsnyder at the ceremony held at the Sheraton Pittsburgh Hotel. “The campaign reflects our role in showcasing the diverse regional opportunities that make a visitor’s experience memorable and unique.”
Notably, GO Laurel Highlands was the only destination marketing organization recognized among western Pennsylvania PR firms, underscoring its leadership in modern, experience-driven public relations.
