Cube Expands RegTech Capabilities with Acin Acquisition

Cube buys Acin to boost RegTech services, enhance compliance innovation, and introduce a worldwide partnership with the leading financial establishments.

RegTech is an established leader in the UK Cube and has bought up an AI-based risk management platform of Acin in order to focus on the expansion of regulatory data solutions and global service capacity. Since its inception in 2018 in London, Acin has assisted financial institutions in digitizing the operational and non-financial risk analysis, which it is bringing to the offering of Cube to more than 1,000 clients as well.

The acquisition complements important capabilities such as regulation-control mapping, industry benchmarking, and traceability across enforcement boundaries. The startup also announced the international RegTech partnership program with such participants as Barclays, JP Morgan, Citi, and BNP Paribas.

Ben Richmond, the CEO, called the partnership a one-of-a-kind move, where “silo knowledge” was transformed into shared knowledge, which lowers costs and increases compliance efficiency in the financial world.

The transaction is another part of Cube RegTech's M&A spree, with the company acquiring The Hub in 2023 and Thomson Reuters in the past. As it expands out of its new London headquarters, Cube will grow to 700 employees in 20 countries, with another 200 being added to its workforce, half in the UK.
