The Crew-10 mission of SpaceX brings back astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams who spent months on Dragon spacecraft orbiting in space.
Two astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams have been eagerly awaiting their return from a prolonged space mission which Crew-10 will finally make possible. Boeing Starliner technical problems forced NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Sunita Williams to remain at the ISS since June when they were supposed to join the Starliner. The crew’s return depends entirely on Crew-10 achieving a successful launch.
Spacex utilizes its tenth Commercial Crew Program mission called Crew-10 to establish an essential private sector role in human space travel. Kennedy Space Center will launch SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket carrying Japanese astronaut Onishi along with Peskov and McClain and Ayers aboard their Dragon capsule to the ISS.
NASA postponed the mission launch which was scheduled for February through their decision to introduce a fresh Dragon capsule. NASA decided to advance the launch date when they selected a Dragon capsule that previously orbited Earth. This decision pushed the mission to mid-March.
Four space explorers will form Crew-10 through their affiliation with NASA and JAXA and Roscosmos. The mission identifies Thursday as its expected date of arrival at ISS to carry out handover operations with Crew-9 personnel while retrieving the Starliner astronauts.
Wilmore and Williams will make their spaceflight termination with Earth landing on March 16 after an extended stay.
