The countdown to one of India’s most competitive banking examinations has officially begun, sending waves of anticipation across the country. According to industry insights tracked by CIO Bulletin, the State Bank of India has officially released the SBI PO admit card 2026 on July 22, 2026, setting the stage for a high-stakes national showdown where over 12 lakh candidates will compete for just 1,500 coveted Probationary Officer positions.
The scale of this year's recruitment drive highlights an extraordinary level of competition. Official figures indicate that nearly 12.14 lakh aspirants have registered; meaning over 800 candidates will compete for every single opening. The preliminary examination is set to take place in multiple shifts across the country on August 1 and August 2, 2026.
Highlighting the gravity of the event, lead education analyst Lavkesh Singh noted:
“With less than ten days remaining, downloading the hall ticket early is critical, not just for logistical planning, but for solidifying final preparation strategies.”

Candidates must access the official portal under the “Careers” section to download their call letter immediately. CIO Bulletin reminds all test-takers that bringing a printed call letter alongside a valid original photo identity proof (such as a Passport, Driver’s License, PAN Card, or Voter ID) is strictly mandatory for entry.
