Google has introduced its "News Brief" AI-powered feature to Google TV which uses Gemini systems to produce abstracts of recent headlines alongside YouTube video recommendations.

Google tests the new artificial intelligence-based News Brief feature for Google TV through Gemini models that generate compressed news headlines. News Brief is available now with a limited release for US users following its CES 2025 debut. News Brief presents regular news summaries featuring detailed story overviews before playing selected YouTube videos from vetted news channels.

The new update for Google TV represents ongoing AI advancements into the platform together with voice search totality and automated screensaver generation. According to Microsoft's statement News Brief generates content using AI while human editors maintain quality control.

Users of Google TV can submit feedback by enabling their Google Assistant and using the microphone button on their remote controller to say "Send feedback." The beta version of this feature receives regular updates during the current day. Google remains adamant about keeping undisclosed details regarding news recommendations based on viewers' activities.
