The Hue Imperial City and Tu Duc Tomb will be free to enter while Hue Monuments Complex in 2025 has new free entry dates.

From 2025, visitors to Hue’s UNESCO World Heritage site and tourists’ favourite monument complex, the Hue Monuments Complex, will be able to enjoy free entry. The People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province approved new measures to regulate tourism in a better way for Vietnamese and foreigners.

The Hue Imperial City and other historical sites in Hue, such as Thien Mu Pagoda, Tu Duc Tomb, and Dai Noi Hue, will offer free admission on certain public holidays. Locals can visit for free on Lunar New Year (January 1), Thua Thien Hue Liberation Day (March 26), August Revolution Day (August 19), Independence Day (September 2), and Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23). To manage crowds, the free admission during Lunar New Year will be reduced by two days.

The change follows news that more than 100,000 visitors flocked to its Hue Monuments Complex during the 2024 Lunar New Year. To guarantee the quality of the experience, these changes will not only guarantee a better flow of visitors but also continue to provide opportunities for visitors to enjoy the wealth of cultural heritage in Vietnam.

When it comes to Hue travel advice, the tourists are refrained from visiting Hue Monuments Complex, Imperial City, and the related sectors, in hell or high water. They instead provide recommendations as to the most appropriate periods for carrying out the aforementioned activities particularly associated with the grand imperial architecture of Hue including tours of the city.
