Oman signs 389M tourism deal Muscat

Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism joins with Omran Group on a $389 million luxury Four Seasons integrated complex in Muscat.

Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism recently signed an agreement with Omran Group, Oman’s leading tourism and hospitality investment firm, to develop a mixed-use tourism project in the capital city of Muscat. Situated in the Al Bustan area, the proposed integrated tourism complex will be constructed at a cost of RO150 million ($389 million) in line with the country’s Oman Vision 2040 initiative. The project has a completion timeline of less than four years. Sayyid Imbrahim bin Said Al Busaidi, Oman’s Minister of Heritage and Tourism, and Ayad bin Ali Al Balushi, CEO of Omran Group, were signatories to the agreement.

According to the project proposal, the global hospitality brand Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts will manage a fully integrated tourism destination that combines high-end residential living and luxury hospitality. A 200-room hotel and 91 branded luxury residential units for freehold ownership are in the pipeline. Also, a range of premium facilities is planned for the complex, including a luxury marina, a yacht club, marine leisure amenities, restaurants, and retail outlets. Additionally, visitors and residents would be treated to a luxurious lifestyle and tourism experience with the project’s modern service facilities and advanced infrastructure.

Moreover, the agreement is expected to provide an impetus to the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism’s commitment to strengthening the country’s tourism infrastructure and supporting the sector’s growth as an integral part of its economic progress. CIO Bulletin views the project as having the potential to enhance local development and generate employment opportunities, thereby positioning the tourism industry as a key driver of growth.
