Interview Highlights
Dr. Lisa Webb, every meaningful venture often begins with a personal moment of clarity or calling. Could you tell us a bit about your “backstory” and what experiences or turning points led you to this unique career path in integrative mental health and wellness?
Early in my career as a clinical psychologist, I became increasingly aware that the term “mental health” did not fully capture how people actually experience their inner world. The language itself often carries a stigma and unintentionally frames individuals through a lens of deficit or disorder. At the same time, I was seeing firsthand how fragmented traditional care had become. Cognition, emotional regulation, trauma, stress, and daily functioning were treated as separate issues, when in reality, they are deeply interconnected.
That realization marked a significant turning point for me. I began intentionally shifting my framework from “mental health” to what I now call mind health. Mind health reflects how people think, process, regulate, make decisions, and show up in their lives. Body & Mind Consulting was built on that shift. The company exists to support the whole person through an integrated model that honors both healing and high-level functioning.
Could you please walk us through the core offerings at Body & Mind Consulting? What unique elements make them stand out in transforming clients’ lives?
Body & Mind Consulting functions as an integrated ecosystem rather than a single-service practice. Our offerings include psychotherapy, trauma-informed care, integrative wellness modalities, executive and professional support, and preventative mind health services. What makes our work distinct is that everything is designed through the lens of mind health rather than diagnosis alone.
A strategic area of focus within this model is ADHD and executive functioning. Many of our clients are high-capacity individuals whose challenges stem not from a lack of ability, but from chronic cognitive overload, stress, or unsupported neurodivergence. By integrating ADHD-informed care into our broader mind health framework, we help clients build clarity, resilience, and sustainable performance.
Drawing from your expertise in trauma and mental health, how do you incorporate compassion and personalization into your services to empower your clients and communities in their wellness journeys?
Compassion is foundational to effective mind health work. Many individuals arrive having internalized years of misunderstanding or self-criticism. Personalization begins by creating safety and context. We help clients understand how their minds have adapted to past experiences, stress, or trauma, rather than viewing those adaptations as failures.
This approach allows people to replace shame or misunderstanding with insight. When individuals understand how their mind works, they are better equipped to make informed choices, advocate for themselves, and design systems that support their wellbeing and function.
Many of your clients face mental health challenges that are often misunderstood or misdiagnosed, especially among women and girls. How does your approach at Body & Mind Consulting empower women to reclaim their stories and build resilience?
Women are often misdiagnosed or dismissed — especially in areas like ADHD, perimenopause, menopause, and executive-function difficulties. When we reframe the conversation around mind health, the goal shifts from labeling to understanding. In doing so, women can recognize their experiences as adaptive responses to real internal and external demands, rather than evidence of personal failure.
Empowerment comes from clarity. When women understand how their minds respond to pressure, expectations, and the environment, they can build resilience rooted in self-trust instead of self-correction.
The MindSpa concept beautifully merges self-care traditions with modern science. What inspired this innovation, and how does it redefine the role of preventative and restorative mental wellness?
The MindSpa was created as an extension of the mind health philosophy. I wanted to create a space where care for the mind could be proactive, restorative, and normalized, not reserved solely for times of crisis. This is especially important for individuals with high cognitive demand or ADHD, where regulation and recovery are essential for optimal function.
By integrating evidence-based modalities such as light-based therapies and sensory regulation, the MindSpa supports nervous system balance, clarity, and restoration. It reframes care as maintenance rather than intervention.
Looking beyond your professional life, your passion for big cat conservation and your devotion as a mother are truly inspiring. How do these aspects of your personal journey enrich your leadership style and approach to serving others?
Motherhood has deeply influenced my understanding of regulation, modeling, and sustainability. It has reinforced the importance of systems that support growth without causing depletion. My passion for cheetah and other big cat conservation reflects a similar value: protecting what is vulnerable under sustained pressure.
Both experiences inform a leadership style rooted in stewardship, patience, and long-term thinking. Whether working with individuals or organizations, my focus is always on preserving capacity over time.
Looking ahead, what’s next for Body & Mind Consulting? Are there new programs, services, or innovations in the pipeline that clients and the broader wellness community should be excited about?
Body & Mind Consulting is continuing to refine and expand its integrative mind health model. This includes deepening our work in ADHD and executive wellness, expanding offerings for professionals and organizations, and continuing to innovate through preventative services like the MindSpa.
While these areas are a strategic focus, our mission remains integrative and whole-person-focused. We continue to support personal growth and mind health and wellness across the full spectrum of need.
As we celebrate the “Best Women Entrepreneurs to Watch 2026,” what advice would you give to fellow women, whether aspiring entrepreneurs or those seeking to step into their own power as leaders and change-makers?
Language matters. Alignment matters. I encourage women to question frameworks that ask them to perform at the expense of their wellbeing. Leadership becomes sustainable when mind health is prioritized and systems are built to support how we actually function.
Clarity, not perfection, is what allows women to lead with confidence and impact.
