Jannine Versi, CEO of Elektra Health: Breaking the Silence Around Menopause and Building the Future of Women’s Healthcare

Silence has shaped women’s health for far too long. For generations, menopause was treated as something to endure quietly, not something to understand, discuss, or actively manage. Yet millions of women step into midlife every year with questions, symptoms, and concerns that often go unheard. The leaders shaping the future of business today are not just launching products. They are challenging outdated narratives and building systems that respect women’s lived experiences.

Jannine Versi is one of those leaders. As Co-Founder and CEO of Elektra Health, she is changing the way society approaches menopause. Her work is not simply about healthcare delivery. It is about dignity, access, and the belief that women deserve evidence-based support during every stage of life.

Jannine’s career has spanned healthcare, technology, and public service. She has held roles at Google, served in the Obama Administration and the White House, and helped build high-growth healthcare companies such as Cityblock Health and Valera Health. With degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School, and experience as a Fulbright Scholar and Blavatnik Fellow, she built a foundation rooted in service and innovation.

But Elektra Health did not emerge from credentials alone. It was born from a clear realization. Despite menopause being a universal transition for women, the healthcare system was not built to support it comprehensively. Over 50 million women in the United States are navigating menopause, yet many face stigma, confusion, and fragmented care. Jannine saw an opportunity to build something better.

Reimagining Midlife Care

Elektra Health was founded with a simple but powerful mission: to smash the menopause taboo and reimagine care for women in midlife. The company combines telemedicine, education, and community into one integrated platform designed specifically for menopause and the decades surrounding it.

At its core, Elektra believes menopause is not the end of something. It is the beginning of a new chapter. Instead of viewing it as a decline, the company frames it as a powerful transition that deserves proper medical attention and emotional support.

Through board-certified clinicians and trained coaches, Elektra delivers old-school medicine in a modern format. Women can access 30-minute virtual visits with menopause experts, receive personalized care plans that may include prescriptions or lab work, and stay connected through ongoing follow-ups. This continuity of care ensures that symptoms such as hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood changes, and hormonal shifts are managed thoughtfully and proactively.

The experience is designed to be accessible and human. No woman should feel alone during menopause. Elektra makes sure she does not have to.

Care, Education, and Community in One Place

What sets Elektra apart is its comprehensive approach. Medical care is only one piece of the solution. Education and community are equally essential.

Members gain access to a private platform filled with evidence-based resources, expert-vetted readings, and virtual events. They also receive one-on-one support from Elektra Coaches who help translate medical guidance into everyday habits and practical strategies. From personalized wellness plans to unlimited messaging support, the system is built around continuous empowerment rather than one-time appointments.

The process is straightforward. Women begin by taking a menopause assessment to identify symptoms and concerns. They then meet virtually with a menopause specialist who provides tailored recommendations. Ongoing support ensures that adjustments can be made as needs evolve.

This model reflects Jannine’s broader vision for healthcare. It should not be reactive or rushed. It should be proactive, informed, and compassionate.

Supporting Women in the Workplace

Menopause does not pause when a woman enters the office. In fact, many women navigate this transition during peak leadership years. Yet workplace support remains limited.

Elektra Health addresses this critical gap through its employer partnerships. Research shows that one in five women has left or considered leaving a job due to menopause symptoms. A significant percentage report that menopause negatively affects work performance, while many feel unsupported by their employers.

Elektra partners with leading organizations to provide sponsored access to its platform as an employee benefit. Companies that invest in menopause support send a clear message that women’s health matters at every stage of life.

Through employer programs, women receive instant access to telemedicine care, personalized education, and private community channels. Elektra also hosts Employee Resource Groups at organizations such as LVMH and Reddit, creating safe spaces for open discussion and expert-led education. These sessions bring menopause out of the shadows and into productive workplace dialogue.

By addressing menopause as both a healthcare and workplace issue, Elektra is helping companies retain experienced female talent while fostering inclusive cultures.

Building a Movement, Not Just a Service

Elektra Health is more than a telemedicine platform. It is a movement to normalize menopause and place women’s midlife health at the center of innovation.

Under Jannine Versi’s leadership, the company combines clinical excellence with emotional intelligence. The goal is not just to treat symptoms but to empower women with knowledge and confidence. By integrating medical care, community, and coaching, Elektra creates a model that reflects the complexity of women’s experiences.

Jannine represents a new generation of women entrepreneurs who understand that impact goes beyond revenue. It lies in shifting conversations, rewriting outdated scripts, and designing systems that reflect real needs. Her work ensures that menopause is no longer treated as a hidden phase but as a vital stage deserving of respect and resources.

Elektra Health continues to grow its reach, serving thousands of women and partnering with forward-thinking employers. Its mission remains clear and unwavering. With that vision guiding its path, Elektra Health stands as a powerful example of how women leaders are transforming healthcare, strengthening workplaces, and ensuring that every woman can move through midlife with confidence, clarity, and strength.
