The report of Microsoft in 2025 shows the evolution of the AI-driven collaboration making the Indonesian workplace an explosion of intelligent, agile and future-ready organizations.
Microsoft has revealed Indonesia-specific insights to its 2025 Work Trend Index, which highlights the emergence of a group of companies coined as Frontier Firms: organizations that are propelled by human-AI collaboration. Given that 97 percent of business leaders in Indonesia view 2025 as a significant shift in strategy and operations, Microsoft is highlighting a bold shift in workplace dynamics.
Based on insights from more than 31,000 employees in 31 countries and signals from Microsoft 365, the report presents the changes in workflows that are enhanced by digitally enabled agents. Whether enhancing efficiency or reinventing leadership through the use of AI-powered agents as bosses, this transition represents a major turning point in the evolution of the Indonesian digital economy.
President Director of Microsoft Indonesia Dharma Simorangkir underscored this jump as a breakthrough opportunity that local businesses can use to leap over the traditional barriers and become innovative. The latest release of 365 Copilot Wave 2 by Microsoft promotes this transition with new features, including an AI-powered search, Copilot Notebooks, and an Agent Store of task-related digital assistants.
As 59 percent of Indonesian companies use AI agents already and more employees express their interest in human-AI work collaboration, Microsoft keeps driving Indonesia in the direction of the smarter and AI-embodied workforce.
