The major mobile updates included in Samsung One UI 8 are HDR screenshots, an improved multitasking experience, and the introduction of new features in Z Flip 7.
The Android 16-based One UI 8 update is gaining pace and the stable version looks to roll out next month with new products such as the Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7. The update holds a fleet of mobile improvements most of which are already found in the beta builds.
The important mobile capabilities are the repackaged Now Bar and Now Brief experience, the live captions on calls, the enhanced smoothness of animations and an updated 90:10 split-screen mode. The updates will focus on multitasking and ease of access to the mobile ecosystem of Samsung.
Perhaps the most notable new feature is the addition of support for true HDR screenshots, which found their way here via Android 16. Since HDR screenshots store rich visual data as metadata, they do not degrade like typical SDR captures. Observing this aspect in the new, closed beta build (ZYF7) will mark a significant advancement in the sharing of mobile content.
Credible tipster @UniverseIce confirms the HDR feature of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Users may have the opportunity to test this feature soon in the public beta or upon the release of the One UI 8 stable.
With the help of mobile users will receive a better clarity of screenshots in apps including YouTube, Instagram, Netflix, and others, to facilitate daily interaction with media.
