The renewable energy giant expands its operational capacity by 35% as it transforms the global power landscape through the massive Khavda project.
The shift toward a sustainable future just gained massive momentum. Adani Green Energy (AGEL) officially announced a historic achievement this week, delivering its highest-ever annual greenfield capacity addition of 5.1 gigawatts. This surge in green energy development signifies a pivotal moment for the industry, as the company’s total operational capacity has now expanded by an impressive 35% year-on-year to reach 19.3 GW.
This growth isn’t just about numbers; it’s about a fundamental change in how large-scale power is generated. The majority of this expansion is centered at the Khavda renewable energy complex in Gujarat, a site that has quickly become a global powerhouse for solar, wind, and hybrid energy solutions.
The financial results following this expansion are equally striking. Revenue from power supply grew by 22%, reaching approximately $1.36 billion. This financial stability ensures that the transition to cleaner power remains a viable, long-term business model.
"Our record-breaking expansion this year is a testament to our commitment to a cleaner planet," an AGEL representative stated during the announcement. "By delivering 1.5 times more capacity than the previous year, we are proving that the scale of our ambition is matched only by our speed of execution."
As reported by CIO Bulletin, the Khavda complex now hosts a staggering 9.4 GW of operational capacity. By leveraging advanced solar-wind hybrids alongside traditional wind and solar, AGEL is effectively redefining the limits of what a green energy infrastructure can achieve on the global stage.
