Globe–NCS Venture Expands APAC Telecom Reach

Globe Telecom and NCS seal a joint venture and change the name of Yondu to NCS Philippines to scale ICT, cloud, and AI services in APAC.

Globe Telecom and NCS have finalized their joint venture, which had been announced earlier, and this step will increase Telecom-led digital transformation, as seen in Asia Pacific. Through this deal, Globe has acquired 49 percent of the stakes in Yondu Inc., where NCS holds 51 percent, and Yondu Inc. will be renamed NCS Philippines after it acquires NCSI Philippines.

The alliance greatly adds collaborative powers in digital, cloud, data, and AI spheres that continue to be more key to next-generation telecom and ICT services. The joint venture creates instant growth in terms of regional presence and partner ecosystem, as well as delivery experience, by rebranding Yondu to NCS Philippines.

Globe President and CEO Carl Raymond R. Cruz remarked that the transaction places the firm in a position to implement global ICT solutions as well as speed up service growth in APAC. Financially, Globe CFO Carlo Puno indicated increasing capital efficiency and a more stable platform to facilitate long-term telecom growth.

According to NCS CEO Ng Kuo Pin, the transaction will scale the Philippines workforce to more than 1,200 professionals and increase their capacity to deliver and provide more people in the region and globally with the advanced telecom-aligned digital services.

In a region where the increased demand is in advanced ICT solutions, the venture is complete, with the need to highlight how telecom players are collaborating to compete on a large-scale basis and enable sustained digital change in Asia Pacific.
