Celebrate Comanche heritage with art, music, and dance at the inaugural Red River Arts & Music Festival this Saturday.
On the weekend of September 7, 2024, the Comanche Red River Hotel Casino will host the first-ever Red River Arts & Music Festival, which promises to be a colorful celebration of Comanche culture. Live music, traditional performances, and cultural art will all be part of this free festival, which runs from 3 p.m. until midnight.
An arts and crafts exhibition featuring the creations of Comanche artists, such as elaborate beadwork and one-of-a-kind artwork will kick off the event. Starting at 5 p.m., attendees can enjoy free hotdogs and hamburgers while supplies last.
Comanche Tribal Members will be showcasing traditional dances, akin to those witnessed at nearby Powwows, at a cultural heritage presentation from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. In order to properly enjoy the festival, attendees are advised to bring lawn chairs.
The centerpiece of the festivities will be live music, with bands like Blaine Bailey, Parker Ryan, Gannon Fremin, and CCREV, among others, providing a lively soundtrack from 4 p.m. to midnight.
Immersion in Comanche culture is possible at this festival, which also offers a day of artistic expression and communal spirit.
