Spotify Introduces Whatsapp Music Sharing for Effortless Song and Podcast Previews

Android users can now share Spotify tracks, playlists, and podcasts directly to WhatsApp Status with a 30-second preview.

Spotify has unveiled a new feature that makes sharing music even more social. Android users can now post their favorite songs, playlists, albums, and podcasts directly to their WhatsApp Status, complete with a short 30-second audio preview.

This update allows music lovers to showcase what they’re listening to just like they already do on Instagram and Facebook Stories. Each shared post includes the track title, album art, and an “Open on Spotify” button, so friends can instantly listen to the full track inside the streaming app.

When someone views a WhatsApp Status, they’ll be able to hear a brief audio clip of the shared song or podcast. It’s a simple way to discover new music through personal connections rather than algorithms.

Spotify said the feature will roll out globally to both free and Premium users over the coming weeks. To use it, listeners just need to tap the “Share” option beside a track or playlist, select WhatsApp, and post it to their Status, where it will stay for 24 hours, like any other update.

Alongside the WhatsApp integration, Spotify is expanding sharing options across other social media platforms. Users can now send songs through in-app messages, and Spotify has improved its Instagram integration for smoother music previews. The company also plans to bring similar sharing abilities to TikTok and Snapchat soon, helping users express themselves through music no matter where they connect online.
