Ford recalls 113,000 F-150 pickups

Ford Motor Corporation has recalled roughly 113,000 F-150 pickup trucks due to a rear axle hub failure, which could cause the truck to lose power or roll away while in park.

A rear axle hub failure might result in the F-150 pickup truck losing power or rolling away when in park, which is why Ford Motor Company has recalled about 113,000 of these vehicles.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced on Tuesday that a recall is in place for a certain group of F-150 vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2023 that have a 9.75-inch heavy duty axle with a 3/4 float axle design and the Trailer Tow Max Duty package. According to the recall, there is a chance that the rear axle hub bolt will wear and break, damaging the axle hub splines.

When an axle hub spline is destroyed, a car may lose drive power or roll away when in park. According to the NHTSA, each of these circumstances may make a crash more likely.

The recall states that Ford is currently determining how to address the problem. For the time being, the NHTSA urges owners of the recalled pickups to bring their cars to a dealer for a temporary fix if they experience issues with the rear axle bolt, such as clicking or rattling sounds.

Due to defective rear axle bolts, Ford also conducted a recall of more than 238,000 Explorers in the United States in October.
