CEO Sam Altman fired

Open AI, the company that created ChatGPT, revealed on Friday that Sam Altman, the CEO and co-founder, had been fired after an investigation. CTO, Mira Murati will take over.

Sam Altman, the co-founder and CEO of ChatGPT, was sacked, according to an inquiry that concluded he was "not consistently candid in his communications" with the board of directors, the company that created ChatGPT, Open AI, reported on Friday. The statement issued by the AI startup read, "The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI."

Altman has established himself as a sought-after authority in Silicon Valley regarding the advantages and disadvantages of artificial intelligence since he founded ChatGPT a year ago. But the sudden and mostly inexplicable closure of his business sparked concerns about the future of the sector. The company stated with immediate effect, OpenAI's CTO, Mira Murati, will take on the job of interim CEO, while it searches for a permanent replacement.

Furthermore, the statement mentioned that Greg Brockman, a prominent executive, co-founder of OpenAI, and chairman of the board, will resign from his role while still holding the post of president of the company. On X, the former Twitter, Brockman then posted a statement he had written to OpenAI employees, in which he stated, "Based on today's news, I quit."  Brockman said that Altman was asked to join a virtual meeting with the business's board members on Friday at noon, while Brockman would be away, in a different X post on Friday night. Ilya Sutskever, the Chief Scientist and co-founder of OpenAI, informed Altman that he would soon be fired during this meeting.
