Dollar General names Donny Lau as CFO, the same individual who will lead the financial strategy while the company recovers and thrives in both the U.S. and Mexico.
Dollar General Corporation has said that effective October 20, 2025, Donny Lau will come back and serve as the executive vice president and the chief financial officer (CFO) of Dollar General Corporation. Lau is going to replace the current CFO, Kelly Dilts, who is leaving the office on August 28. Todd Vasos (CEO) will take up the post of interim principal financial officer till that time.
This move is a re-entry of Lau in the Dollar General after his first work there in 2017-2023, where he had served in various positions of finance leadership as senior vice president of finance and chief strategy officer. He is at present the CFO of Zaxby Franchising LLC. His career also covers a stint at Yum! investment banking companies and Morgan Keegan & Company and Morgan Joseph brands.
Vasos said, "Donny coming back to Dollar General as our new CFO is an exciting matter to me. His money management and sense of understanding of our business will be valuable in helping us move to higher levels as a business."
Dollar General which has over 20,500 stores in the U.S. and Mexico, has been recording good recovery with almost a 50 percent rise in stocks in the six-month period. Recently analysts increased their price targets with references to a remodel program and better execution by the company.
The changing of the leadership indicates the continuity of the financial approach development and improvement in store activities at Dollar General.
