Lumen billing platform to Azure Cloud

Strengthening Operational Agility and Resilience through AI Enabled Migration of Mission Critical Revenue Systems to Microsoft Azure

Amdocs, a major provider of software and services for communications and digital service providers, recently said Lumen Technologies is pushing its cloud-first strategy ahead by moving its enterprise Lumen billing platform to Azure, the Microsoft-developed cloud computing platform. In turn, this should help Amdocs enable the shift of mission-critical platforms into the public cloud, or at least that’s the general idea. Lumens’ cloud-first strategy helps it to enhance resilience, improve operational agility, and enable greater scalability, while ensuring reliable customer-critical workloads.

Furthermore, Lumen supports its enterprise revenue operations primarily through its billing platform; lending significance to this milestone in terms of Lumen’s evolving enterprise platform landscape supporting growing demand and innovation. The enterprise envisions Amdocs accelerating complex cloud journeys, reducing transformation risk, and embedding continuous optimization from day one by applying its agentic, AI-enabled migration capabilities through the Amdocs Operating System framework (aOS).

According to Chand Naeger, Chief Information Officer at Lumen, Enterprise billing is a foundational capability for how we serve our business customers. By working with Amdocs to migrate one of our billing platforms to Microsoft Azure, we are strengthening resiliency and scalability while improving operational efficiency." Sulabh Sood, Vice President of Cloud Transformation at Lumen pointed out how partners like Amdocs help a company migrate and modernize mission-critical applications and platforms across Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS.

And in response, Anthony Goonetilleke, Group President of Technology and Head of Strategy at Amdocs, also shared that the company is proud to keep supporting Lumen. Specifically, he highlighted support for Lumen’s cloud strategy as it moves its mission-critical enterprise billing platform to Microsoft Azure. CIO Bulletin views this development as the ideal opportunity for Amdocs to use this engagement to cement its role as a long-term partner in operating and evolving core consumer and business platforms, in turn ensuring reliability while enabling scalable growth in the cloud.
