Accenture has acquired CyberCX to grow its footprint in Asia-Pacific in terms of cybersecurity, which makes governments, businesses, and important infrastructures more secure.
Accenture has announced its acquisition deal with one of the largest cybersecurity firms in the region of Asia Pacific, namely CyberCX. Based in Melbourne, CyberCX has government and private sector customers across Australia, New Zealand, and around the world. It is the largest cybersecurity acquisition by Accenture so far and is indicative of its trend to boost regional capacities.
CyberCX was founded in 2019 and has c.1,400 employees specializing in consulting, managed services, offensive security, threat intelligence and crisis management. The company has high-security operations centers in Australia and New Zealand and other offices in London and New York.
Accenture claimed that the acquisition would expand its cybersecurity services in the Asia Pacific region and would increase the resiliency of the enterprises and the protection of critical infrastructure. Accenture global lead of cybersecurity, Paolo Dal Cin, emphasized that the integration of CyberCX, powered by Accenture AI capabilities, would use its leadership in the market to make cybersecurity a strategic advantage to clients.
CyberCX also has built a suite of AI-based detection, response, cloud security, and training via its CyberCX Academy. Its close associations with industry giants like Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, and CrowdStrike also make it a dominant force in the industry as managed security providers.
John Paitaridis, the CEO of CyberCX, clarified that the acquisition would allow the business to expand its cybersecurity presence on a global scale and help organizations remain proactive against emerging threats.
Assuming regulatory approvals, the acquisition would be part of a trend of security-oriented growth for Accenture, which has seen 20 acquisitions since 2015.
