Drake University launches a three-year bachelor’s program, empowering global talent in data analytics and artificial intelligence.

Drake University, one of the USA’s most prestigious and a top-ranked private institution, has announced the launch of a new program in Panama City, Panama, which is followed by the signing of a formal agreement between the University and Ciudad del Saber. With this new program, students will be able to pursue a career–defining three-year Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics with a minor in Artificial Intelligence (AI) from Drake’s new location at Ciudad del Saber.

The university has also stated that apart from this, the students are also allowed to pursue a wide array of majors and minors through a “2+2” program in which the final two years can be completed on Drake’s US-based campus in Des Moines, located in Iowa’s capital city.

“This program is built to meet the growing demand for data analysts and AI experts worldwide. With Drake’s deep and long-standing ties to the Republic of Panama, a demand for professionals that is outpacing the global talent pipeline, and Panama’s position as a thriving hub for the global supply chain,” said Drake University President Marty Martin. Though these programs are new to Panama, Drake University has a huge experience in these fields, and the university now aims to be among the first US universities to offer a bachelor’s degree in both data analytics and AI.

The reports and statistics from Bipartisan Policy Center suggest that Drake’s graduates (in all fields of study) experience a lifetime return on investment that ranks among the top 3% of all US universities. Also, Drake’s most celebrated 2023 data analytics graduates, specifically, earned an average $74,000 annual salary only one year after graduation. And this new program will be a feather in its cap. Applications for the program will open in August 2026 with enrollment beginning in August 2027.
