Safran and Bombardier combine efforts to co-develop new defense technology, building Franco-Canadian aerospace partnerships and innovation in the field of international defense.

The leaders in the aerospace industry, Safran and Bombardier Inc., on the occasion of the Paris Air Show signed the letter of intent to co-develop the cutting edge in the field of defense together. The alliance will utilize the complementary competencies of both companies to devise new, high-performance, and dependable solutions regarding the changing defense requirements.

The accord highlights a strategic synchronization of the French and Canadian firms, which aims at scaling fast in the industrial setup and stronger protection technology advancement.

Olivier Andriès, Safran CEO, said, "Strengthening our long-lasting partnership with Bombardier is a very strategic step. We can go further together faster to bring the next generation of defense technology."

The sentiment was reiterated by Bombardier CEO Eric Martel, who added that the firm and its 18,000 employees are ready to offer defense tech solutions in the form of next-generation technologies to domestic and allied governments.

The partnership also signifies the priorities of the government. At a joint press conference on June 13, French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou and Quebec Premier Francois Legault stressed the importance of aerospace to both economies and affirmed on behalf of both governments their intention to intensify economic and technological partnership.

Such a move firms both parties at the top of defense technology development, where they seek to satisfy global defense needs by innovation and collaboration.
