Kirin Joins Global Beverage Sustainability Coalition

Kirin enhances cooperation among industries to hasten the environmental sustainability of global beverage value chains.

Beverage Industry Environmental Roundtable (BIER) has reported that Kirin Holdings Company has joined its international coalition of beverage industry leaders that is determined to make the industry increasingly environment-friendly. With a base in Japan, Kirin is offering over one hundred years of history in the field of innovation, stewardship, and responsible business activity to the collaborative platform.

Kirin takes an active role that supports its long-term strategic direction, boasting of environmental sustainability such as climate action, water stewardship, resource efficiency, and responsible sourcing. The company has been on the move to minimize greenhouse gases and waste and encourage circular packaging in its operations.

Through BIER, Kirin will work with other industry members to harmonize best practices and approaches and reinforce the disclosure framework to enable environmental sustainability objectives to be achieved on a global basis. The coalition organizes the common action on the important questions: water management, sustainable supply chains, and nature-positive strategies.

One more focus use of Kirin is on supplier engagement, where their partners are closely worked with in order to mitigate risks to the environment and society as well as enhance transparency and accountability. Company leaders believe that collaboration is a key to establishing long-term resilience and providing real achievements in environmental sustainability.

BIER Executive Director Erica Pann added that if Kirin becomes a member, its participation will allow the coalition to tackle more complicated issues related to the environment by sharing expertise and acting jointly. The inclusion of Kirin ensures that BIER remains a major voice in the global beverage industry for promoting environmental sustainability.
