Google will establish a cloud data center facility in the Chon Buri area of Thailand to emphasize its dedication for digital skill development and support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
Google intends to construct a new cloud data center facility in Chon Buri Thailand to deepen its business presence in the nation. During a meeting between Ruth Porat President and Chief Investment Officer of Google and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra at the World Economic Forum in Davos on January 22 she revealed the plans. Construction on this new data centre continues and operation should begin within two years.
Google continues to partner with Thai government agencies such as the Ministry of Education in digital skills development as Porat explained during their announcement. Google continues to support Thai small and medium-sized enterprises with upskilling initiatives according to Porat during the meeting.
The prime minister indicated that she expects Google to base some of its digital products from Thailand first while the government will provide support to help with expansion. The revelation signifies a crucial expansion phase for Google as the company grows throughout Southeast Asia.
