Arthur J. Gallagher acquisition

With the acquisition of Durham & Bates, Gallagher expands its insurance services in the Pacific Northwest, now employing marine and employee benefits expertise.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has recently taken on another acquisition in its already bulging portfolio by acquiring Durham & Bates Agencies, one of the leading brokers in Oregon. This agency is fully engaged in the business of property and casualty, marine, and benefits insurance services to clients of the Pacific Northwest. The terms of the deal were undisclosed.

Such acquisitions will provide Gallagher further reach within the region, not only for marine but with high potential-growth avenues. Durham & Bates will be under Jim Buckley and Charlie Isaacs of Gallagher, whilst Jeremy Andersen and his team will continue operations at the company.

Gallagher continues its expansion efforts as a global insurance brokerage, adding more acquisitions to its already buoyant acquisition of the portfolio, including Howe Insurance Group of Texas and M.J. Schuetz Insurance Services of Indiana. Already present in over 130 countries, Gallagher solidifies its strength as a leading giant in the insurance industry.
