EcoVadis – Transforming Global Supply Chains through Data-Driven Sustainability Intelligence and Strategic Risk Management

When businesses measure success solely by revenue, they risk overlooking the forces shaping the future—environmental stewardship, ethical practices, and social responsibility. EcoVadis recognized this early on, transforming the landscape of procurement and supply chain management by making sustainability intelligence accessible, actionable, and globally trusted. Its solutions help companies make decisions that protect not only their bottom line but also the communities and ecosystems they touch.

Founded in 2007 in Paris, EcoVadis began with a bold vision: empower organizations to embed sustainability at the core of their operations. From the first office in Paris, the company expanded globally, establishing hubs in New York, London, Toronto, Tokyo, Barcelona, Melbourne, Hong Kong, Mauritius, Poland, and Tunisia. Along the way, it developed pioneering tools like Corrective Actions, Live News, EcoVadis IQ, and the Carbon Action Manager, alongside launching the EcoVadis Academy for supplier education.

By 2024, EcoVadis had over 100,000 active rated subscribers, covered more than €1.7 trillion ($2 trillion) in business spend, and assessed more than 150,000 companies worldwide. These milestones reflect the company’s unwavering commitment to transforming supply chains into engines of measurable positive impact.

Turning Supply Chains into Strategic Advantage

EcoVadis understands that a company’s supply chain holds the greatest potential to influence environmental, social, and ethical outcomes. Sustainability is no longer a peripheral goal—it directly impacts brand value, operational efficiency, and access to capital. Studies show that sustainable practices can enhance brand equity by 15–30%, lower capital costs in 90% of cases, and reduce supply chain costs by 9–16%. EcoVadis equips businesses to leverage these advantages through deep, actionable insights and robust risk management.

EcoVadis Sustainability Intelligence Suite

The Sustainability Intelligence Suite lies at the heart of EcoVadis’ approach. It provides fast, contactless supplier assessment, robust ratings and scorecards, and corrective action tools to reduce risk. The Carbon Action Manager enables organizations to track greenhouse gas reductions, while 360-degree dashboards and reporting offer real-time visibility into supplier performance.

For suppliers, EcoVadis simplifies assessment with industry-, country-, and size-specific questionnaires, producing scorecards and benchmarks that can be shared across multiple clients. Suppliers gain access to learning tools, carbon calculators, and improvement resources, while recognition programs celebrate their achievements in sustainability. With multilingual support and user-friendly interfaces, EcoVadis ensures accessibility for global businesses.

Proactive Risk Management for Resilient Supply Chains

EcoVadis transforms risk into resilience by enabling companies to identify gaps, detect hotspots, and implement improvement plans. Its analyst-validated insights provide comprehensive visibility into supplier practices, helping organizations reduce environmental, social, and ethical risk exposure.

The platform also simplifies regulatory compliance. By uncovering regulatory gaps, guiding alignment with global standards such as ISO, GRI, and UN Global Compact, and integrating seamlessly with enterprise applications, EcoVadis ensures companies can navigate complex regulatory environments efficiently.

Driving Impact Beyond Assessment

EcoVadis doesn’t stop at evaluation—it fosters continuous improvement. Over 1,500 multinational organizations leverage EcoVadis to manage risks, optimize costs, innovate, and unlock new revenue streams. Programs like the Carbon Action Manager and EcoVadis Academy empower businesses and suppliers alike to take tangible steps toward reducing emissions and improving social and ethical outcomes.

Initiatives such as the acquisition of Ulula, a worker voice solution, highlight EcoVadis’ commitment to amplifying employee perspectives and promoting ethical standards. By merging technology, data, and human insight, the company ensures sustainability intelligence becomes an integral, strategic component of business operations.

A Vision for a Sustainable Global Marketplace

EcoVadis envisions a world where sustainability intelligence informs every business decision, creating ripple effects that benefit economies, communities, and the planet. Its solutions allow companies to transform supply chains into resilient, ethical, and high-performing networks. As we move through 2025, EcoVadis continues to set the benchmark for sustainable procurement, proving that responsible business practices are not only ethical but essential for long-term success.

With EcoVadis at the helm, businesses can navigate the intersection of profit and purpose with confidence, turning sustainability challenges into strategic opportunities. In a world where impact and accountability define leadership, EcoVadis shows that intelligent supply chain management is the most powerful lever for lasting change.
