Miriam Schnyder, Founder of Art X on Glass AG: Redefining Artistic Leadership by Turning Glass into Stories and Art into a Movement of Empowerment and Joy

Women leaders bring creativity and vision to life, shaping industries and communities with passion and purpose. They inspire through their ability to create meaningful change and connect deeply with others. Miriam Schnyder is one such leader. As the founder of Art X on Glass AG, she blends artistry and emotion to craft unforgettable experiences.

Based in Switzerland, Art X on Glass AG is a pulsating community of artists united by a shared love for glass and bold creativity. Under Miriam’s leadership, the company transforms stained glass into powerful expressions of love, hope, friendship, and even sorrow. Each hand-painted piece is one-of-a-kind, reflecting the individuality of its owner and turning everyday spaces into experiences filled with wonder.

Miriam pours her heart into every creation, seeing glass not just as a medium, but as a canvas for emotion. Her leadership fosters a culture of innovation and enthusiasm, where her team embraces color, pattern, and storytelling to craft pieces that resonate on a personal level. Her mission is simple yet profound: to spread joy and inspiration through art that feels deeply personal. Art X on Glass AG transforms spaces into experiences filled with wonder, where every piece tells a story and invites connection. This is a company dedicated to crafting moments of beauty, made with love for those who seek the extraordinary.

At CIO Bulletin, we had the distinct honor of interviewing Miriam Schnyder, who shared how she and her company bring spaces to life through immersive experiences—where every piece tells a story, sparks connection, and invites wonder.

Interview Highlights

Miriam Schnyder, as a woman leader and the founder of Art X on Glass AG, can you tell us a bit about your “backstory”? What led you to this particular career path, and how has your journey as a female entrepreneur shaped the company’s vision?

After my Bachelor’s study at the University of Zürich, Switzerland, I worked at the company Hoffmann – La Roche (Pharma) in Basel, Switzerland. It was a very exciting time for me to work in one of the best companies in the world. I had a dream; to realize this dream, I needed to go back to university – I completed an Executive MBA at the University of Zürich and I became self-employed. Everything sounds like a fairy tale. It was and is hard work. As a self-employed person, your day has no end. Your dreams have no end. Your responsibility has no end.

As a woman leading Art X on Glass AG, what challenges did you face in the art and design industry, and how did you overcome them to make your company a leader? Who were your key mentors, and can you share a story of how one shaped your journey?

I am the owner of SCHNYDER Group Holding AG, and SCHNYDER Glasworld GmbH is a subsidiary of this company. Mrs. Yasmin Gressel is the CEO of SCHNYDER Glasworld GmbH, and she is my key mentor. I am lucky to have a small group of people around me whom I can trust endlessly and who believe inme and in my strengths.

Your tagline emphasizes “the most exclusive connection to emotions, art, and glass.” What makes ART X ON GLASS stand out in the competitive world of art and design, and how do you ensure each piece remains truly unique?

Every one of our artworks tells a story. We love to create paintings that make you think. I do not see other artists as competitors. All artists are in the same boat. We want to present our art—our way of seeing and understanding the world. Like all artists, we feel disappointed when people pay no attention to the artwork.

Today, many people are “brand hunters.” They only want to see what everyone else has already seen. It is no longer considered modern to be unique or to be the first to present something new. But I believe that time will come again. I believe that a time when people value originality and uniqueness will one day return.

Mrs. Anna Wintour said: “Trust your creative vision.” I do.

You’ve said that art on glass is more than decoration—it transforms spaces. How does this philosophy guide your leadership approach and the creative direction of ART X ON GLASS?

Art X on Glass is something truly special. It took a long time to find the right name for what I felt. I felt a deep love—for glass, for painting, for color, for life, for my children, for my parents, for my roots in Slovakia, and at the same time, for Switzerland—the country that gave me the opportunity to realize my dreams.

Art X on Glass not only transforms spaces; it connects different worlds. It brings together glass and acrylic. We go beyond the boundaries of classical thinking about art. We connect the East and West of Europe. We demonstrate that possibilities still exist.

As a woman leader of ART X ON GLASS, how do you empower women in your team, art community, and customer base while inspiring your artists to infuse love, hope, and passion into their work, advancing your mission to spread joy and inspiration?

We make no distinction between women and men, between family and employees. Everyone is expected to follow the rules of Art X on Glass AG—regardless of citizenship, religion, or education.

Do you have a book, podcast, or talk that’s had a deep impact on your thinking? Can you share a story with us? Can you explain why it was so resonant with you?

I follow several people on Instagram—for example, Novak Djokovic, who is currently aiming for his 25th Grand Slam title. In one inter

view, he said that many tennis players are on the same level; what sets them apart is their mental strength in the moments that matter most.

Another person who has deeply influenced my thinking is His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, especially through his book ‘Meine Geschichte’. I also enjoy the works of Deepak Chopra and Paulo Coelho. There are so many remarkable books where each page reveals profound wisdom.

I love the voices of Pavarotti and Elvis Presley. I’m also drawn to the rhythm of the Viennese Waltz and the passion of the tango.

As a forward-thinking leader, what are your long-term goals for ART X ON GLASS, and how do you plan to position the company as a leader in the global art and design market?

Art X on Glass AG is not just a company—it is a part of my family and my life. We are taking steps into many countries because we want to share our reverse glass paintings with people around the world. We want to show them that it’s okay to be unique.

My wish is for Art X on Glass to become a brand that is accepted and loved. I hope people feel joy when they see our new artworks or when we take part in an art fair.

You are a person of great influence. If you could inspire a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be?

I believe in the philosophy of 'Leben und leben lassen,' which means live and let live.
