The Indian Institute of Creative Technologies (IICT) and global streaming giant Netflix have joined hands to launch IICT Netflix scholarships for 100 students across six specialized academic tracks. Designed to empower aspiring artists, storytellers, and media professionals, this program offers financial aid of up to 80% for two one-year diploma programs and four six-month certificate courses. Backed by the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity, the partnership seeks to democratize skill acquisition across the animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and extended reality (AVGC-XR) space.

Strengthening Young Storytellers in India

This program is a vital part of the larger Netflix India Storytelling Initiative, which was launched after an important meeting between Ted Sarandos and Prime Minister Modi.

Beyond providing direct financial relief, Netflix has actively collaborated with IICT faculty to curate course modules for programs like Visual Effects Mastery and Media Tech Workflow. The cooperation introduces elements of industry activity, contemporary studio techniques, and universal standards of creativity into the classroom. The objective is to narrow the gap between students' theoretical knowledge and real production needs by providing them with experience in real-life manufacturing activity before they join the profession.
