From cancer detection to heart monitoring and mental health support, AI is reshaping how doctors diagnose and treat patients.
Artificial intelligence is no longer a future promise in healthcare; it is becoming part of everyday medical practice. At the center of this transformation is Tempus AI, which is rapidly expanding its footprint across medical technology with a series of AI-powered innovations.
In February 2026, Tempus introduced HRD-RNA, an advanced algorithm designed to better identify patients with Homologous Recombination Deficiency, a condition linked to certain cancers. TheAI-driven model analyzes more than 1,600 genes to help doctors determine which patients are more likely to respond to specific treatments such as platinum-based chemotherapy or PARP inhibitors. The goal is simple: deliver the right treatment to the right patient at the right time.
Earlier this year, Tempus also launched Paige Predict, a digital pathology tool that examines tissue images to guide testing decisions. In 2025, the company received FDA clearance for its ECG-Low EF software, which uses AI to detect patients at risk of heart failure by analyzing routine heart readings. It also introduced Notetaker, an AI assistant that helps psychiatrists automatically generate clinical notes during patient sessions.
Industry peers are following a similar path. GE HealthCare is collaborating with NVIDIA to enhance imaging and reduce radiologist burnout, while Stryker continues expanding its robotic surgery platform, Mako.
As AI steadily integrates into hospitals and clinics, medical technology is entering a new era, one where smarter tools promise faster diagnoses, improved accuracy, and more personalized care for patients worldwide.
