London listed tertiary minerals advances tertiary minerals base metals prospect drilling at musima north to outline high grade copper silver and zinc zones across zambia
The London-based mining company Tertiary Minerals has advanced significantly with regard to the Tertiary Minerals base metals project in Mushima North in Zambia. The most recent analytical results obtained from the Phase 4 drilling mission at the Target A1 site indicated a much more significant high-grade silver, copper, and zinc zone than anticipated given the context of the area. The site is about 28 kilometers to the east of the historic Kalengwa mine and is part of a promising iron-oxide copper-gold area, giving the organization the chance to benefit from the growth of demand for the much-anticipated critical minerals in the region.
The most recent drilling task of 3,639 meters turned out to be very successful in finding multiple shallow polymetallic intersections.
The best intersections were measured at 52 meters, containing 99 grams per ton silver, 0.41 percent copper, and 0.43 percent zinc.
The deeper sections that targeted copper gave a result of 10 meters showing 1.01 percent copper, 165 grams per ton silver, and 0.78 percent zinc.
Also, the assays contained key mining minerals, such as bismuth, antimony and cobalt.
These analytical results confirm that mineralization extends beyond current exploration target boundaries, remaining completely open at depth for further resource expansion.
Technical directors noted that delineating shallow, high-grade mineralized zones significantly improves project development economics.
"We are delighted with the analytical results received to date from our recent Phase 4 drill programme, which have allowed us to delineate a substantially higher-grade mineralized zone within the current exploration target," - Tertiary Minerals Managing Director Richard Belcher.
He emphasized that numerous drill holes ended directly in active mineralization beyond modeled target boundaries.
In addition to core drilling at Target A1, preliminary field testing unveiled a brand-new shallow copper discovery approximately 900 meters west-southwest.
Portable X-ray fluorescence tests returned preliminary readings of 25 meters grading 0.38 percent copper from 19 meters depth.
Following results indicated that follow-up drilling found 26 meters of mineralization at 0.13% copper, starting from a depth of 23 meters.
The strategic metals cobalt and antimony were found in the project, confirming the previous studies which pointed to their presence among other critical metals.
These satellite results confirm that Mushima North has a bigger structural system that can allow for various long-term multi-commodity extraction plans.
Expanding resource footprints in established African mining districts provides global markets with reliable raw material streams essential for the energy transition. As global demand for copper and strategic battery metals surges, systematic exploration playbooks build tangible asset value for junior miners. CIO Bulletin views this development as a significant operational success that strengthens Zambia's strategic standing in international critical mineral supply chains.
Everything you need to know about this news
The Mushima North is situated in the iron-oxide-copper belt of Zambia about 28 kilometers east of the historic Kalengwa mine.
The finished Phase 4 drilling program revealed large amounts of silver, copper and zinc along with other important metals such as cobalt, bismuth and antimony.
The zone is quite shallow, with significant copper and silver intercepts found between 8 and 80 meters deep.
Richard Belcher is the Managing Director of Tertiary Minerals.
The discovery of accessory minerals such as cobalt, bismuth, and antimony is important as it ensures the extraction of strategic metals as a consequence of extracting these metals along with copper and silver.
