New features, including enhanced Voice Clarity and Sudo for Windows, are coming with the latest update
Microsoft has hinted that Windows 11 24H2, the latest update for its operating system, will arrive on September 24, 2024. Initially available through an optional preview update, this feature-packed release will be fully rolled out during October’s Patch Tuesday update cycle.
This upcoming Windows 11 update introduces several exciting new features, including Voice Clarity, which uses advanced AI to improve audio quality by eliminating background noise and echoes. Previously exclusive to Surface devices, this feature will now be available to all users.
Another notable addition is Sudo for Windows, allowing users to run elevated commands within the operating system more easily. It offers three modes: a new elevated console window, running commands in the current window, or sharing input and output streams with the current window.
Windows 11 24H2 is already available on select Copilot+ PCs, primarily powered by Snapdragon chips, but will soon extend to Intel and AMD hardware as well. Not all PCs will receive the update immediately, as it will initially be limited to flagship models. However, users eager to try out these features can manually check for updates by enabling early access through the Windows Update settings.
Additionally, a redesigned Microsoft Teams app is coming with the update, featuring multi-account support and cross-platform compatibility, promising faster performance and improved usability.
