PropertyGuru hires Lu Yao as Singapore MD to spearhead proptech innovation, marketplace development and customer-centric solutions in Southeast Asia.

Lu Yao has been appointed as Managing Director in Singapore at PropertyGuru Group, the leading PropTech in Southeast Asia, and will start on September 15, 2025. At his new position, Lu will be in charge of the expansion of the Singapore marketplace business of PropertyGuru, facilitating the strategies to add more value to property seekers, property agents and partners.

Lu Yao is joining the executive leadership team, reporting to CEO Lewis Ng, with years of experience in the field of e-commerce and marketplace operations. He has worked in leadership in the Daraz Group at both Alibaba and Shopee Singapore and as an advisor at McKinsey and Company.

PropertyGuru noted that the experience of Lu would enable the company to become a proptech leader in Southeast Asia that is centered on innovation, customer-driven solutions, and market expansion.

Lewis Ng stated that the next phase of our development depends on the experience that Lu gained in the sphere of business growth and his devotion to the success of customers.
