Abhijin Rao Joins Lam Research’s Global Supply Chain Leadership

Lam Research strengthens its semiconductor operations by appointing veteran procurement expert Abhijin Rao to its global supply chain leadership team.

Lam Research recently announced the induction of procurement and global supply chain specialist Abhijin Rao, recognized as Procurement Leader of the Year 2025, to its global leadership team. Armed with over two decades of experience in the industrial and renewable energy industries, this marks Rao’s maiden entry into the semiconductor sector. Announcing the shift, Rao said, “After more than 7+ years at Enphase and 23+ years in Industrial, Renewable Energy, EMS, Consumer, and EV sectors, I am excited to share that I will be venturing into the Semiconductor SC world through Lam Research by joining their Global SC Leadership team.”

Furthermore, he noted that he was indebted to his colleagues at his earlier workplace, Enphase, where he managed more than $1 billion in global spend by supervising sourcing, procurement, and supply chain operations across eight manufacturing sites worldwide. Significantly, Rao demonstrated supply chain leadership by stewarding the company’s operations through turbulent phases in the recent past, including the COVID-19 pandemic and imposition of tariffs. Additionally, he also helped Enphase scale operations to support multiple factories, directed new product launches along with globalization strategies, and oversaw diversification away from China to effectively execute global supply chain risk management.

Moreover, Rao was in charge of building and managing high-performing teams throughout his senior leadership roles at companies such as Jabil Circuit, Tyco International, American Power Conversion, and Larsen and Toubro. Across these organizations, he has handled important responsibilities like managing enterprise-scale procurement transformations, delivering sustainable savings of over $90 million, and enabling revenue growth through competitive strategies and product industrialization. Rao has been a strong advocate for embedding analytics and AI-driven decision frameworks across companies’ operational landscape to strengthen supplier governance.
