Telecom-focused hands-on program aims to equip educators with modern industry skills for more practical, job-ready teaching.
In a significant step to bridge the gap between technical education and industry demands, the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE) has announced a specialized industrial training program for polytechnic teachers. The sessions will be conducted at the BSNL Zonal Telecom Training Centre (ZTTC) in Pune, running from October 27 to December 12, 2025.
While students often benefit from internships and industry exposure, MSBTE officials emphasized that teachers must also stay updated with current technologies to deliver effective, practical instruction. “Teachers who train students must themselves have industry experience. This program will boost their teaching with greater relevance, confidence, and hands-on understanding,” an official said.
The program is designed to provide comprehensive exposure to the telecom sector. It will cover data communication (October 27–31), mobile communication (November 10–14), switching and basic telecom infrastructure (November 24–28), and transmission and FTTH technology (December 8–12). Each batch will host 30 participants, ensuring personalized attention and practical learning.
Through direct interaction with modern telecom equipment and technologies, teachers will acquire up-to-date skills that can be directly applied in classrooms. The initiative aims to make technical education more industry-aligned, preparing educators to deliver knowledge that is both current and job-oriented.
With this program, MSBTE hopes to create a stronger link between academic teaching and real-world industry standards, ultimately benefiting both teachers and the thousands of students who rely on their guidance.
