YouTubers are selling their unused videos to the AI firms at $1- $4 per min, with higher fees for specific video solutions.
Content creators on YouTube and other digital platforms can now sell their footage left over from a project at $1 to $4 per minute to AI companies which use them for training models. OpenAI and Google, as well as other AI companies, buy these videos to train and tune their algorithms. The clippings become a very valuable property so that they are highly classified and kept in secret because with the help of particularly unpublished and highly restricted videos the AI systems learn to improve in newer products.
What specially fascinates the high-tech companies are such extraordinary things as drone shooting or an animated 3D scene because such things would be able to fetch a much higher price. Additionally, for creators, it is relatively simpler and more rewarding to sell through platforms such as Shutterstock, Wirestock, or Adobe Stock.
As new demands arise, so does the number of content creators selling the unused content for digital AI firms. The terms must also be read in order to understand the arrangements made toward rights to do so and further reap the rewards in future work.
