Mazda proposes futuristic automobile designs with carbon-capturing technology and algae-powered fuel innovation in the 2025 Japan Mobility Show.
During the 2025 Japan Mobility Show, Mazda had two concepts of innovative cars, Vision X-Compact and Vision X-Couple, designed in the vision of a sustainable company in the future.
Mazda had a hit at the showcase with their new Mobile Carbon Capture system, which is a technology that captures CO₂ directly out of the exhaust of a car and it is then recycled to be used in the industries or agriculture. The innovation makes Mazda a leader in eco-friendly automobile engineering.
The Vision X-Coupe is also powered by carbon-neutral fuel, such as the fuel manufactured out of refined microalgae, which is quite radical in achieving sustainability in the automobile industry. Despite the fact that production efficiency is still low, the demonstration by Mazda showed that bio-based fuel alternatives had possibilities.
The plug-in hybrid operates under a two-rotor rotary engine that is boosted by an electric motor supplying some 503 horsepower and an electric range that goes up to 99 miles. The four-door coupe concept is also futuristic and a continuation of the Kodo design philosophy, a language of elegance and fluid precision adopted by Mazda.
The unveiling of Mazda shows that the brand is continuing its endeavor to revolutionize the automobile industry by innovating, being environmentally friendly, and proposing a visionary design.
