Next-generation double-cab pickup debuts in India featuring striking exterior upgrades and advanced digital cabin amenities.
The automotive landscape sees an exciting addition as the ninth-generation Toyota Hilux launched across the domestic market, featuring an entry price of Rs 31.99 lakh ex-showroom. The upgraded pickup truck is based on the tried-and-tested IMV platform chassis and sports an improved design style with the striking honeycomb grille, slender LED headlights, and athletic looking wheel flares.
According to industry news from CIO Bulletin, there are new innovations in the new design meant for varied driving conditions:
Variant Options: Available in three automatic trims comprising GX 4x2, GX 4x4, and top-tier VX 4x4.
Modernized Interiors: Equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless connectivity, and ventilated front seating.
Proven Capability: Powered by a 2.8-litre diesel engine delivering 201 BHP and 500 Nm torque.
Will this total interior improvement, combined with the various drive systems, set a new benchmark for lifestyle utility vehicles? According to automotive industry experts, adding a rear-wheel-drive 4x2 configuration to the existing four-wheel-drive setups will make the famous truck far more attainable to suburban utility consumers.
In addition to its upgraded cabin ergonomics and updated interior design, the multipurpose vehicle is also quite efficient in terms of its structure, which includes a maximum cargo load capacity of 500 kg in the cargo bed. Highlighting the vehicle's underlying structural design concept and robust engineering foundation, Team-BHP noted that "the latest iteration of the Toyota Hilux is based on the IMV platform," confirming it continues to share the durable, time-tested framework that underpins iconic utility models across the globe.
This modern double-cab pickup, which comes equipped with a sensitive six-speed auto-transmission system, multi-terrain drives, and a wide range of modern safety systems such as seven airbags and 360 degrees cameras, manages to blend both rough off-road toughness and modern urban comfortability perfectly. With the help of these technical features, you will be able to enjoy driving on both wilderness and city roads equally well.
