Delta's special Airbus A350-900 arrives with the Olympic flag, marking the countdown to LA28 Summer Games.

As the 2028 Summer Games draw near, Delta Air Lines has made a remarkabl comeback flying the Olympic flag on a specially painted Airbus A350-900. Team USA returned to Los Angeles aboard this aircraft, which was decorated with the eye-catching "LA28" livery representing palm trees, signifying the city's rich Olympic past, following an amazing 16-day competition in Paris.

The flight DL291 landed at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) after 11-hours from Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) in Paris. In advance of Los Angeles's staging of the XXXIV Olympiad, the Olympic flag returned to the city for the first time in forty years with the arrival of the plane, N522DZ.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, accompanied by LA28 Chairperson Casey Wasserman, and notable Team USA athletes such as skateboarder Tate Carew, volleyball player Micah Ma’a, and diver Delaney Schnell, were on board to receive the flag. The ceremony at Delta’s hangar welcomed Team USA with cheers from supporters and local officials including California Governor Gavin Newsom.

The aircraft, featuring a sunset gradient and Olympic-themed design, will promote the upcoming games and travel throughout Delta’s network. Delta, a founding partner of LA28, continues its tradition of celebrating the Olympics with themed aircraft, following its previous Team USA liveries.
