Citi Appoints Minh Ngo to Lead Vietnam Branch

Citi appoints Minh Ngo as the new Vietnam head, which intensifies the banking and financial approach throughout the country.

Citi has solidified its banking and finance leadership in Vietnam by making Minh Ngo Citi Country Officer and Banking Head. Her appointment is a historical event because she is the first Vietnamese person to hold such a position in 32 years of the bank's operation in the country.

Ngo will also be the general director of Citi in the Ho Chi Minh City branch, where he will assume general responsibility for banking and finance activities. She will also manage the execution of strategies for all client segments, product lines, and regulatory priorities as the most senior Citi representative in Vietnam.

Citi has gained influence in the banking and finance sector since it set up its presence in Vietnam as early as 1993 and the leadership by Ngo is likely to make the bank speed up its transformation efforts locally. In her new mandate, she is directly accountable for financial performance, legal entity governance, and enhancing the interaction between Citi and regulators.

According to the bank, Ngo will have a positive impact on the plans of global transformation and entrench Citi as a dominant force in the changing banking and finance environment in Vietnam.

Her selection is indicative of Citi’s long-term commitment to Vietnam and appropriate indications of increasing opportunities in the fast-evolving financial market of Vietnam.
